The Pennsylvania RTC held its first USA Wrestling Bronze Level Coaches Clinic on March 28, 2015. It was a tremendous turnout as close to 30 coaches were present with experience levels ranging from youth, high school, collegiate, and elite international competition. The focus was on developing and sharing knowledge of the Sports Sciences, Sports First Aid, Philosophy and Ethics, Goal-Setting, Periodization, Evaluation, Administration, Wrestling Techniques, Strategies and Tactics.

All coaches that completed the course were awarded the USA Wrestling Bronze Certification and received a Certificate of Completion. Coaches were also introduced to the Silver Level Certification process so that they may continue their personal development as coaches through USA Wrestling’s National Coaches Education Program.

We will plan to run more Bronze and perhaps Silver College clinics in the near future. This is a great opportunity for local coaches to get more adept in the sport of wrestling here at our “Regional Coaches Education Center”.

Our vision is to establish ourselves as an entity that can sustain itself, while providing substance to the ecosystem of the community. We will strive to create a pathway for elite student-athletes towards national and international success in wrestling and in life, while supporting the development of wrestling across the Mid-Atlantic metropolitan area. Our goal at PRTC is not only to train wrestlers but to educate athletes, coaches and parents on the importance of each dynamic the sport of wrestling offers.

“I would like to thank all the coaches that attended the Pennsylvania Regional Training Center’s first bronze certification course.  Our goal at PRTC is not only to train athletes but to educate coaches on the importance of proper development, leadership, effective coaching skills, as well as the philosophy and ethics in the sport of wrestling.  I believe these coaches are now prepared to utilize the lessons learned and advance their program to the next level.” – Brian Dolph, Head Coach PRTC
