Prtc Trains With Nittany Lion Wrestling Club in Happy Valley

Published December 9th, 2016 by PRTC Wrestling

The Pennsylvania Regional Training Center took a trip up to Happy Valley this week to train with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. Dan Vallimont, Chase Pami, Richard Perry, and Patrik Garren had the opportunity to roll with top level athletes and were exposed to some of the most credentialed coaches in the world. The NLWC boasts a wealth of talented wrestlers, including 2016 Olympian, Frank Molinaro, and World silver medalist, Franklin Gomez. The club also has 3 Olympic gold medalists on staff including, Cael Sanderson, Jake Varner, and Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu. Coach Brandon Slay had this to say about training in Happy Valley:

“The ideal training plan should always consist of getting out of your comfort zone and traveling to train in a different environment with different partners and coaches who will maximize your development. Penn State has proven to be one of the best environments to train in the country, and the PRTC is uniquely positioned only 3 hours from Penn State which is a huge benefit to our organization. Plus, it helps that I have known the PSU coaches for almost 20 years, and we simply have fun hanging out and helping these men reach their full potential.”
