Recently, USA Wrestling announced that on September 11th and 12th the 2021 Senior World Team Trials will be held at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska. The representatives for the following weights will need to be decided in Lincoln:

Men’s Freestyle: 61kg, 65kg, 70kg, 79kg, 92kg, 125kg

Women’s Freestyle: 53kg, 55kg, 59kg, 62kg, 65kg, 72kg

Greco: All 10 weight classes

This year’s trials come with great excitement for the PRTC, as five of our athletes have qualified to compete. Beginning with the lightweights, at 61kg Ethan Lizak punched his ticket to Lincoln by earning a fourth-place finish at this year’s Senior Nationals. Additionally, Olympic Trials Finalist Joey McKenna solidified his spot in the 65kg field with his runner-up finish at Senior Nationals.

The organization’s newest member, 5x World and Olympic Champion Jordan Burroughs, is set to compete in Lincoln at 79kg. Jordan earned his spot in Lincoln from his bronze medal performance at the 2019 World Championships. Also competing at 79kg for the PRTC will be David McFadden and Mickey O’Malley. Dave earned his spot in the field after becoming the U23 National Champion, with Mickey earning his spot after becoming the UWW Junior National Champion.

In preparation for the trials our athletes have been training with the nation’s best from RTC’s all over the country, including the likes of Zain Retherford, James Green, Jordan Oliver and others. The training has been consistent, and the body of work is coming together just at the right time for our athletes to be able to compete at their highest levels.
