PRTC resident athlete, B.J. Futrell went 2-2 this week representing Titan Mercury Wrestling Club at the World Clubs Cup in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The Titan Mercury team went 4-0, winning the tournament, and claiming the title of the best wrestling club in the world. Futrell won 4-1 over Levan Kelekhsashvili of the Georgian Champion Club and 10-0 over Oleksiy Boruta of CSKA Ukraine. In the semifinals, he dropped a tight match 8-4 to Andrii Kviatkovskii of ZD Ukraine. In the finals, he lost 11-0 to an extremely tough Ilias Bekbulatov of Iran’s Bimeh Razi.

After the tournament B.J. tweeted, “Every match, one of two things happen. I either win or I learn…On this trip I did some of both.” The international wrestling experience will undoubtedly prove valuable for B.J down the line, and contributing to a Club Championship will be an event not soon forgotten.
