C.J. LaFragola

Assistant Coach, Drexel University

C.J. LaFragola enters his first year as an assistant wrestling coach for the Dragons in 2021 under the direction of the Mert ’67 and Joanne ’69 Hill Head Coach of Wrestling, Matt Azevedo.

A two-time captain and three-time NCAA qualifier, LaFragola comes to Drexel after a highly successful wrestling career with Brown University. During his time with Bears, LaFragola earned All-Ivy honors three times, placed twice at the EIWA Championships, and posted three consecutive 20-win seasons.

After graduating with a Business degree from Brown, he went on to pursue his master’s degree in Sports Media at Sacred Heart University where he used his fifth year of eligibility on the varsity football and baseball fields. Since retiring from the collegiate sports world, LaFragola has taken his love of competition to the MMA arena, where he made his amateur debut in May of 2021.

LaFragola will work mainly with Drexel’s upper weight classes and will have a heavy impact recruiting in the New Jersey areas.
