Best of The Best
The Pennsylvania RTC (PRTC) is focused on wrestlers, aged 9th grade or higher, who desire to train and compete at the highest levels and desire advanced training in Freestyle and/or Greco Roman wrestling. We aim to use the sport of wrestling to produce a high level training environment for students looking to grow both as competitive wrestlers and individuals as whole.
Criteria & Mandatory Consent
Before attending any PRTC camp or practice, every wrestler MUST:
- Meet the criteria to train at an RTC
- Live within 250 miles of Philadelphia
- Have an updated USA Wrestling card
- And Fill out the Mandatory Consent Form.
World-Class Coaching Staff
The PRTC provides a world-class coaching staff from both the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University wrestling programs and includes our PRTC wrestlers as well. Their combined credentials include several NCAA All-American and Championship honors in addition to a high-level of international success. The unique partnership between universities in addition to our world-class athletes equates to one of the best coaching staffs found within the Philadelphia and Middle Atlantic Region. Facilities & Training Sessions
The PRTC practices and training camps will have the benefit of utilizing both the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University wrestling facilities. Training sessions will be comprised of high level technique, drilling and live wrestling. The sessions will be focused and intense with the goal of providing dedicated and hard working students of the sport the opportunity grow as both wrestlers and people as a whole. Internationally, the area of Dagestan in Russia is considered the hot bed of wrestling on the globe. The area within a 250 miles radius of Philadelphia should be considered to be the hot bed of wrestling in the United States. Five of our eight Senior World Team members from 2015 grew up wrestling within 250 miles of Philadelphia (Green, Burroughs, Herbert, Snyder, and Rey). Burroughs and Snyder were World Champions, and Green was a Bronze Medalist. In addition to our Senior Level success, the future looks equally as promising. In fact, the Philadelphia Metro Area (Area XI) youth outpaced all other areas in the state at this year's state championships placing 44 to the next closest 31. I believe the PRTC is located in arguably the best youth and high school wrestling area in the nation, and I'm very excited to begin contributing and serving these future World and Olympic Champions and their coaches.
